Oman and Tanzania are taking steps to enhance their trade and investment collaboration, aiming to forge new partnerships between businesses in both nations. This initiative was marked by a visit from a delegation of Oman’s Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, which engaged in discussions with Tanzanian government officials, economic institutions, and business leaders. The talks centered on expanding economic ties, identifying viable investment opportunities, and promoting private-sector partnerships.

Ibtisam Ahmed Al Farooji, the Undersecretary for Investment Promotion at Oman’s ministry, emphasized the importance of Tanzania as an economic partner in East Africa. She noted that Oman is eager to broaden cooperation with Tanzania in areas that offer substantial investment potential. This sentiment reflects Oman’s strategic interest in strengthening its economic footprint in Africa, building on the longstanding relations it has maintained with Tanzania.

The delegation highlighted several factors that make Oman an attractive destination for international investors, including its strategic location, robust infrastructure, and various investment incentives such as the Golden Residency Programme. These elements are positioned as key facilitators for fostering long-term business partnerships and attracting foreign investment.

During the meetings, both parties explored opportunities for Omani companies to increase their presence in African markets, while simultaneously connecting Tanzanian businesses with investment prospects in Oman. The discussions underscored the necessity of enhancing communication between government institutions and private-sector representatives to successfully develop joint projects.

This visit is part of a broader effort by Oman to expand its economic partnerships across Africa, leveraging its strategic advantages to cultivate deeper economic ties and mutual growth opportunities with countries like Tanzania.
