Bahrain’s Foreign Minister, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, took part in the Arab Troika meeting with members of the United Nations Security Council at UN headquarters in New York. The talks, held alongside the 80th UN General Assembly, brought together Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and the League of Arab States to discuss cooperation with the Security Council.

The session was chaired by South Korea, which currently holds the Council presidency, and attended by foreign ministers of Security Council member states. Minister Al Zayani reaffirmed Bahrain’s commitment to joint Arab efforts that enhance the role of the League of Arab States and strengthen communication with the Security Council to promote global peace and security.

He stressed that the region faces escalating challenges, particularly the lack of a political solution to the Palestinian issue. He reiterated support for the unified Arab position demanding the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, the release of hostages, and urgent humanitarian aid delivery.

Al Zayani also highlighted the importance of Arab-UN cooperation to address crises in Syria, Yemen, Sudan, Libya, and Somalia through dialogue and diplomacy, ensuring state sovereignty and meeting the aspirations of people for stability and development.
