Oman’s Minister of Heritage and Tourism, Sayyid Ibrahim Said Al Busaidi, recently embarked on a tour of Italy to explore potential partnerships aimed at enhancing tourism development and heritage preservation. The visit underscores Oman’s strategic interest in drawing from international expertise to bolster its tourism offerings and safeguard cultural heritage.
During his Italian visit, Al Busaidi engaged with representatives from the Italian Alpine Club and Renco Company. These discussions centered on the prospects of expanding mountain and adventure tourism in Oman, leveraging Italy’s renowned expertise in trail development and related services to diversify tourism experiences in the Sultanate.
The minister’s itinerary also included a visit to the Colosseum Archaeological Park, where he met with the management team to discuss best practices in archaeological site preservation and heritage management. Both parties explored opportunities for knowledge exchange and the development of professional capabilities to enhance visitor experiences.
In a bid to promote sports tourism, Al Busaidi held talks with representatives from Inter Milan. These discussions aimed at showcasing Oman’s tourism attractions to a broader international audience, tapping into the global reach of sports to attract visitors.
Moreover, the visit featured a presentation on the Italian tourism market, focusing on ways to increase Oman’s visibility in Italy. Meetings with Italian media organizations were also part of the agenda, highlighting Oman’s rich cultural heritage, historical sites, and diverse tourism experiences.
This initiative aligns with Oman’s broader strategy to forge international partnerships, attract visitors from key markets, and utilize global expertise to develop its tourism sector while prioritizing the protection of its cultural heritage.
