by admin477351

Oman and Pakistan have taken a significant step towards enhancing their bilateral relations by signing a visa exemption agreement and four memoranda of understanding (MoUs). This development was marked by a ceremony at the Prime Minister’s Office in Islamabad, where Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was present. The agreements were signed during the official visit of Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi to Pakistan.

The visa exemption agreement will simplify travel for holders of diplomatic, special, service, and official passports, thereby facilitating smoother diplomatic and official exchanges between the two countries. This move is expected to strengthen ties at the institutional level and improve coordination between government agencies.

The four MoUs signed focus on various areas of mutual interest, including cooperation in telecommunications and information technology, radio and television broadcasting, news and information exchange, and collaboration between Oman’s National Records and Archives Authority and Pakistan’s National Archives. These agreements aim to bolster institutional connections and promote the sharing of technical expertise and information.

Representing Pakistan, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar joined Al Busaidi in signing these agreements. Both countries also signed the minutes of the eighth session of their Joint Ministerial Committee, further affirming their commitment to expanding their bilateral relationship.

This agreement and the MoUs are part of ongoing efforts by Oman and Pakistan to develop partnerships across key sectors and enhance cooperation. The initiatives are expected to facilitate better communication and exchange between the two nations, contributing to stronger diplomatic and economic ties.
