Kuwait and Iraq have taken a significant step towards resolving longstanding bilateral issues by forming a joint working team. This decision emerged from a meeting between Kuwait’s Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al Hamad Al Sabah and Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al Zaidi, held on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The newly established team is tasked with reviewing the outstanding matters between the two countries, developing a roadmap for their resolution, and submitting recommendations to the leadership of both nations within a 30-day timeframe. Meetings for this initiative will be held alternately in Kuwait and Baghdad, ensuring a balanced approach to the discussions.
Both countries have expressed their commitment to this initiative, underscoring the importance of resolving these issues to strengthen cooperation and partnership.
