Oman and the United States have engaged in discussions aimed at enhancing their economic and investment relationship, with particular emphasis on expanding trade, supporting Omani exports, and attracting American investments. The talks were held during a visit to Oman by representatives from the Oman Trade Office in the United States, where they met with Oman’s Minister of Economy, Dr. Khamis Saif Al Jabri.
The discussions covered the achievements of the Oman Trade Office, its future plans, and the challenges and opportunities present in expanding economic ties between the two nations. A key focus of the meeting was to facilitate greater access for Omani products in the US market, as well as to draw American investments to Oman and explore new avenues of trade cooperation.
Bilateral trade between Oman and the United States has been significant, with the trade volume reaching approximately OMR 555.26 million by the end of July 2026. Oman’s major exports to the US include chemicals and aluminum, while vehicles and transport equipment are among the primary US exports to Oman.
The discussions between Oman and the United States underline a mutual interest in strengthening trade relationships and fostering economic growth through increased cooperation. As both countries look to the future, these discussions are seen as a pivotal step in enhancing bilateral economic engagements and creating new opportunities for trade and investment.
